Creating Killer Content That Gets Results

October 15, 2012 12:01 pm | Published by | Leave your thoughts

Keyboard and handsIf you have been paying attention to the online marketing world over the past few months, you will have likely noticed a sudden obsession for producing content. This obsession came from recent changes to Google’s algorithm- which punished countless websites with bad content/links pointing to their site. These sites saw a dramatic drop in their keyword rankings, and they are now desperately searching for the solution. That solution is to create high quality content, and stop wasting time with bad content that is used solely for the purpose of achieving links, because Google knows better, and you won’t get the results you are looking for!

Create Content that is Actually Beneficial to the Internet

Creating great content can be achieved by offering your readers something that is actually helpful or even entertaining to them. It doesn’t even matter if you are not the best of writers. As long as you are seeking to create something that can be used as a resource for your audience, then it will be successful. The reason why bad content fails to produce good results is because the information it offers is too general. It simply doesn’t offer anything tangible. For that reason, the content won’t receive much exposure, and it won’t result in higher authority or keyword rankings for your website. After all, Google is using excellent content as a key indicator for websites that are worth appearing in the search results. It quite simply isn’t ranking bad content, not often anyway.

Use Your Blog to Establish Yourself as the Expert

If you have a blog on your site, you can use that to your advantage and drive new additional traffic to your site. There are likely a number of queries associated with your niche, and people are using Google to ask those questions. Answer a common question or concern by writing a blog post and your website will likely appear highly in the search results for that question. Obviously this will depend on the competition in the search results for that certain question, so do the proper research beforehand.

Using your blog to answer common questions to do with your niche is a great technique for establishing yourself as an expert. Now that your readers consider you to be the expert, they are going to be more likely to use you for your products or services in the future.
